A Visit from Some Well Behaved Squirrels

We had some very special visitors at Dalgety Bay Care Home this month, as the Donibristle Squirrels came to spend time with our residents. These lively five-year-olds, the youngest branch of the local Scout Group, brought along board games and plenty of enthusiasm, creating a joyful afternoon filled with laughter and conversation.
Residents and Squirrels paired up to play classics like Connect 4, Jenga and Dominoes, with many of our residents reminiscing about their own childhood games. It was a wonderful opportunity for different generations to come together, sharing stories, fun, and a few competitive moments! Some residents even picked up new games, proving that learning and play have no age limit.

The visit was part of the Squirrels' journey towards earning their ‘All Around Us’ badge, which encourages them to engage with their local community. We were delighted to welcome them into our home and play a small part in their learning experience. Seeing the joy on both the children’s and residents’ faces was a reminder of the power of intergenerational connections.

Join Us at Our New Memory Care Café
We’re also excited to announce the launch of our Memory Care Café on Tuesday 25th March, from 2pm to 4pm. This welcoming space is designed for those living with memory loss and their loved ones to enjoy a cup of tea, share experiences, and connect in a safe and supportive setting. The Café will be held every second Tuesday, and we look forward to becoming a regular meeting point for our community. If you’d like to find out more about life at Dalgety Bay Care Home or our upcoming events, get in touch with our friendly team today to arrange a visit.
